My YALC TBR

Now, for those of you who don’t know what YALC is, it is Young Adult Literature Convention which takes place each year as a part of the London Film and Comic Con which first took place in 2004, as Malorie Blackman’s major project as Waterstones Children’s Laureate. 2017 see’s YALC in its fourth year, and brings together some of the most popular names in YA literature including Sarah Crossan, Patrick Ness, Juno Dawson, Laini Taylor, E Lockhart and Sara Barnard.

And as the final cluster of authors to attend this years YALC have been announced, I spent time creating the perfect TBR list in preparation for the convention – choosing to read a mixture of authors I am already dedicated to, and those most recommended to me.

  • One by Sarah Crossan
  • The Weight of Water by Sarah Crossan
  • Stranger the Dream by Lani Taylor
  • The State of Grace by Rachael Lucas
  • Release by Patrick Ness
  • The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson
  • Who Run the World by Virginia Bergin
  • The Girl In Between by Sarah Caroll
  • The Circus by Olivia Levez
  • Margot and Me by Juno Dawson
  • A Quiet Kind of Thunder by Sara Barnard
  • Fly on the Wall by E. Lockhart

Now I know that there is quite a list, and I may stray from it slightly but I plan to get these all read before the final weekend in July. That being said, I would very much like to read Margot and Me by Juno Dawson before I attend her event at Waterstones in Newcastle early next month.

How many of you are going to YALC? And have you set yourself a reading list? Let me know in the comments, it would be brilliant to meet up with some of you, alternatively, if you heading to Juno Dawson’s event alone, so I would love to know if someone is going!

I actually need to amend this list because I’ve just finished The Weight of Water last night, and oh my God I agree. I absolutely love the way it was told. And The Girl In Between sounds so good, if I read it before you do I will let you know what I think! ❤

Ahah, all of the books are being published at once I feel! I wasn’t to familiar with NetGalley until recently, but I’d be worried to sign up because I would be exactly the same ahah 😂 I can’t wait for Yalc I’m just hoping I can get through my reading list by then 🙈🎈
